Practice

My studio practice is located in the Blue Ridge Mountain region of Asheville, NC. Transplanted from the coast of New England, I find the mountains to be expansive rather than constricting, providing ample air and space to explore the contemporary aesthetics of my art practice.

The fluid landscape around me is a daily reminder of the transient and mutable nature of our experience. It is not static, and there is great opportunity in that.

I work primarily on panel and paper with media including encaustic, cold wax, oil, ink, graphite and pastel. I am an enthusiast for mark making, movement and color, who also secretly craves minimalism. This push-pull paradigm consistently informs my work: the visual tug of war between the dense and the sparse.
